The Other Guys, the University of Illinois’ premier men’s a cappella ensemble, will perform the Maple Leaf Community Concert Series (MLCCS) on Nov. 18 at 2:30 p.m. in Monmouth College’s Dahl Chapel and Auditorium.
Also performing will be Monmouth College’s popular men’s a cappella group, The Scotsmen.
Tickets to the concert are $25 and can be purchased at the Buchanan Center for the Arts in Monmouth. By special arrangement, all Monmouth College faculty, staff and students are admitted free with college ID, which must be presented at the door.
Known for their impeccable musicality and unique brand of humor, The Other Guys have evolved from an amusing diversion to a popular, high-profile, international traveling group of good will ambassadors. The current members continue to build on the group’s 40-plus year tradition – a tradition that is characterized by musicianship, comedic spontaneity and time-honored dignity.
The Other Guys perform at more than 100 different venues a year, as well as every Glee Club concert. Their résumé includes appearances at Chicago’s United Center, Yankee Stadium, Wrigley Field, New York City’s famed Gotham Comedy Club, the Broadway production of “Grease” and numerous shows in Europe, to name a few.
Currently in its 21st season, the MLCCS brings a broad range of acclaimed performing artists to the Monmouth College stage each year. The non-profit organization operates entirely on donations, memberships and ticket sales.
