Monmouth College recently announced that three members of its development staff have received promotions. All three are graduates of the college.

“With these changes, I look forward to a very productive new year, building upon the outstanding potential of the talented team assembled in our new offices on North Sixth Street Road,” said Molly Ball, vice president for development and college relations.

Ball is referring to the college’s new office space just across Route 34 bypass in the former Kmart building. An open house will be held at the new facility from 4 to 6 p.m. on Aug. 5, and the public is invited to attend.

Mary Stahl ’87 has been promoted from senior development officer to director of individual and planned giving. In her new role, Stahl will work with a portfolio of major donors, developing and cultivating prospects for planned gifts to the college.

Stahl returned to Monmouth College in 2008 from Catholic Charities for the Diocese of Peoria. Prior to that, she was a vice president for marketing and resource development at OSF Holy Family Medical Center in Monmouth.

Steve Bloomer ‘83 has been promoted from senior development officer to director of principal gifts. Bloomer is responsible for working with the college’s top prospective donors, including individuals who have the capacity to give more than $250,000 in gifts.

A retired Army colonel, Bloomer served as the chief of staff for the Iowa National Guard as part of a 22-year military career before returning to Monmouth College in 2007.

Lucy Thompson ’99 has been promoted from director of alumni programs to director of alumni engagement. Thompson will oversee the Monmouth College Annual Fund, the college’s annual giving programs, annual leadership giving and alumni engagement. She will also be responsible for administering alumni activities and linking annual giving strategies with alumni programming to increase giving and donor participation. Thompson has served on the Monmouth College staff for 11 years.
