His 2006 squad set the school record with 22 dual match victories and his 2011 squad nearly equalled the mark with 20 wins. Under Braun's direction, the Scots have finished second in the Midwest Conference twice since 2009, their highest finishes since winning the team title in 1938. Braun is also the defensive coordinator for the Fighting Scots football team and serves as the college’s strength and conditioning coach.
The tennis program returned to intercollegiate competition in 2002-03 after a 10-year layoff. The program boasts an outstanding $1 million outdoor facility and the $22 million Huff Athletic Center, which features four indoor courts and provides student-athletes the opportunity to play year-round.
Braun has a bachelor's degree from Illinois College, and a master’s degree in sports management from Western Illinois University.
