ROGER HAYNES enters his 29th season as the indoor track & field coach at Monmouth and his 13th as the head coach of the women's program. Under Haynes' direction, Monmouth's track program has experienced unparalleled success. The dominant team in the Midwest Conference since 1990, the Fighting Scots men have won 16 of the last 17 MWC championships including 12 straight indoor track & field conference titles.
Monmouth's men have won 188 indoor individual and relay conference titles and the program can claim 57 NCAA Indoor National Championship qualifiers and 37 indoor All-Americans including the 2008 national pole vault champion. A former school record holder in the high jump, Haynes graduated from Monmouth in 1982 and also held the college record in the javelin throw (205'8") until it was surpassed in 2010. In 2007, Haynes was named the Division III Men's National Coach of the Year for the indoor season by the U.S. Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association. He was inducted into the Monmouth M-Club Hall of Fame in 1997. Haynes also serves as Monmouth's Athletic Director and as an instructor in the Department of Physical Education.
