DAVE RAGONE is in his 12th season as the men's golf coach at Monmouth. Ragone's squad has captured the conference title five times since the program was reinstated in 2000 including back-to-back titles in 2009 and 2010. The Fighting Scots have won more league crowns under Ragone than any other coach in the history of the program. Their last three conference championships also qualified them for the NCAA Championships where they finished as high as 23rd in the nation in 2009. Monmouth has finished no lower than third in the league tournament each year since 2004. Ragone, who is also on the sidelines for the Scots during the football season serving as offensive line and special teams coach, brings his fall gridiron enthusiasm to the links each spring.

TEAM HISTORY
For the past several decades, golf has been a major pastime in the Monmouth community. Monmouth College's inaugural golf season began in the spring of 1938 and was continued until 1982.

After a 10 year hiatus, the program was resurrected for one season in 1992. Although the Scots have been absent from the MWC golf scene, the college's name still adorns the conference record books, winning league titles in 1940, 1975 and 5 straight from 1977-81. Their most recent titles came in 2002, 2004, 2007 and 2009. The Scots' 2007 title earned them their first NCAA Tournament appearance since 1981 and the 2009 team finished 23rd at the NCAA Tournament.

HOME COURSE
Monmouth plays their home matches on the demanding, 6,362-yard, par-71 Gibson Woods Golf Course. The course is aptly named with rolling fairways guarded by old-growth trees and strategically-placed bunkers. The course is the home to the Monmouth-Roseville High School golf team which has produced eight state team titles and six individual state champs.
