Homecoming Schedule of Events

Friday, October 3rd

12:00 Noon — Meaning of Life Lunch (Sam Thompson Society) 
A time to share thoughts on the questions that shape our lives. Nothing is too strange or too trivial, too big or too curious. Someone proposes a question or issue, and we follow our curiosity to see where it leads. Bring a lunch, bring a friend, and join us for an hour of food for thought.

4:00 - 5:00 PM — Monmouth Intercultural Network of Alumni (MINA) networking event
Join us at the Intercultural House for an opportunity to network and engage with current students and alumni.

5:30 PM — 2014 Alumni Awards Reception
Reservations requested; Semiformal) Social with hors d’oeuvres and wine followed by the presentation of awards.

Catch the Homecoming spirit! Competitive dance routines by student organizations, shout and banner contests, introduction of the 2014 Homecoming court, and a spectacular display of fireworks.

8:00 PM — Class of ’74 Reception
Join classmates at an evening reception for drinks, fellowship and a great view of the fireworks.

9:00 PM — Star Gazing
View constellations. Weather permitting.

Saturday, October 4

8:30 AM — M Club Hall of Fame Induction Ceremony
All are welcome! Slated to receive this year’s highest honor for athletic achievement are Lance Zedric ’83, Kara Kuhrts ’03, Joseph Larkin ’02, and Ivy Clark ’81. A continental breakfast for former athletes and guests of inductees will be served immediately following the ceremony.

9:00 AM - 1:00 PM — Admissions Welcomes Future Scots
Bring a prospective student to tour campus and visit with an admissions representative.

10:00 - 10:45 AM — Alumni Band Rehearsal
Past Band members are invited to join Matthew Wankin, Band Director, for rehearsal followed by parade participation. After the parade, alumni band members are invited to join the Fighting Scots Marching Band in the stands of the April Zorn Memorial Stadium to support the Fighting Scots football team as they take on Beloit.

10:00 - 11:30 AM — All-Alumni Campus Tour
All tours depart from the Admissions Building.

Enjoy pastries and beverages with fellow alumni, faculty (current and emeriti) and friends, courtesy of the Alumni Board. Find a spot along Broadway and enjoy the parade!

Cheer for this year’s floats, marching bands, and special guests, including Hall of Fame inductees and alumni award winners.

Past Choir members are invited to join Professor Tim Pahel, Director of Choral Activities, and the Monmouth College Chorale for a rehearsal of music to be sung at the Homecoming Choir Concert. Dinner will follow the rehearsal in the Highlander Room of the Stockdale Center.
