The Alumni Board of Directors, composed of 34 alumni members, governs the Alumni Association (the body of all former Monmouth College students who have completed at least two semesters of academic work). These elected men and women come from a variety of professional backgrounds, geographical areas and class years. Alumni Board members are elected to five-year terms from nominations solicited from alumni and college administration.
By volunteering their time and talents, board members strengthen and maintain the ties of the alumni to their alma mater. The board collects and votes upon Alumni Awards for Distinguished Alumnus, Distinguished Service, Young Alumnus and Family of the Year. They also assist the college by providing leadership for the Alumni Chapters program, hosting alumni events, serving on class reunion planning committees, assisting with the admission effort and supporting the Monmouth College Annual Fund. The board meets in full session twice a year (once in the fall and once in the spring) for meetings in which Monmouth College administrators enlist board members’ advice on matters of interest to alumni and the Alumni Association.
