Monmouth College truly is a home away from home. I graduated in 2012 and I am happy to give back to the institution that provided me with a fabulous education and serve as an Admission Representative.
I discovered Monmouth by chance with a postcard I received in the mail from the Admissions Office. I figured that I would visit to see what Monmouth College has to offer and it was the best decision I could have made.
I knew when I stepped foot on campus that this is where I wanted to attend school. I remember the friendly tour guides and how students and faculty welcomed me to campus and made me feel comfortable. The college search process can be scary but the Admissions staff made me feel at ease and walked through all the steps with me and my family.
The campus spoke for itself, the beautiful trees and the blend of old and new was so unique. Seeing students walking to class and playing Frisbee on the quad was so neat; I wanted to be a part of it! I remember telling my Mom that, “we need to stop in the bookstore and get a hoodie because this is where I want to go!”
As a student I discovered so many new things and left with a wealth of knowledge and the ability to think outside of the box and view things from multiple perspectives. I took away pieces from many disciplines outside from my own and was able to relate and learn from my peers as well. The faculty at Monmouth is extraordinary, they care so much about their students and they really wanted me to succeed.
Outside the classroom I grew as a person and discovered new interests and even took on leadership roles. Whether it was participation in honor societies, Pi Beta Phi, or anchoring the campus news broadcast MC-TV. Monmouth College endorses engagement inside and outside of the classroom and the end result is a well-rounded person that leaves with great memories and pride in saying, it’s great to be a scot!
Come experience the campus community for yourself. Talk with an Admission Representative, sit-in on a class, tour the beautiful campus and see if Monmouth College is the right place for you!
