Timothy A. Stiles
Academic Biography:
I chose Medical Physics because I want to be able to work on problems that directly impact people. I hope to find solutions for problems that will enable doctors to better diagnose and treat diseases. Diagnostic imaging is a set of complex tools that enable us to "see the invisible" and know what is going on under people's skin.
As an undergraduate, I was interested in physics and philosophy. I enjoy thinking and reading about the interactions between these fields.
Research Interests:
My main research interests are in medical ultrasound and musical acoustics. I am also interested in physics education and exploring issue of energy in society.
