Tyler A. Hennings
Academic Biography:
I chose painting because I like making marks. I love the smell of paint, the feel of loaded brush sliding across a canvas, and the weight of a fresh tube of paint in my hand.
Research Interests:
My paintings are about the act of looking, the process of painting, and the foundations of art. It is my goal to create work from carefully observed reality with an abstract sensibility; to create a dialogue between representation and abstraction, which I do not see as mutually exclusive ways of working.
