Monmouth / Academics / Faculty Profile

Douglas B. Rankin

Academic Biography:
As a student at MC, I did only theatre--primarily acting. Upon graduation, I served as the director of public information for Monmouth College as well as sports information director. Wanting to earn an advanced degree, I decided to go back to my theatre experience and focus more on the design side. I earned an MFA in design from Northwestern University, intending to become a working theatre artist and designer. For family reasons, I hoped to move back to Monmouth at least temporarily. When a teaching job opened up at the same time, I decided to try my hand at the academic world. I've been here for about 23 years now and love it!
